Point Your Domain to ROCON

Make your domain live with ROCON by following these steps to add a domain, update DNS records, and enable SSL for a secure connection.

Add a Domain

To add a new domain to your site, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Manage Sites section and open the Domains Hosted page.

  2. Click the Add New Domain button.

  3. Complete the form with the following details:

    • Domain Name: Enter the domain you want to add.

    • Do you own the domain?: Select Yes or No.

  4. Click Submit to add the domain. A popup will display the DNS Name of the site.

    • If you close the popup, you can find the DNS Name in the Manage Site > Site Details page.

Note: For users on the community (free) plan, a domain added to one site cannot be reused for other sites. To use the same domain for another site, contact our customer service team at sre@roconpaas.com.

Update DNS Record

To point your domain to your ROCON site, update the DNS record with these steps:

  1. Locate the DNS Name of your site in the Manage Site > Site Details page.

  2. Log in to your domain name provider’s account (e.g., AWS, though steps may vary by provider).

  3. Navigate to the DNS Management or DNS Settings section.

  4. Add a new CNAME record:

    • Specify the domain or subdomain you want to point to your site.

    • In the CNAME value or destination field, enter the DNS Name obtained in Step 1.

  5. Save the changes to update the DNS record.

Once the DNS record propagates (this may take some time), your domain will be directed to your ROCON site.

Enable SSL

To secure your domain with HTTPS, enable SSL (Secure Socket Layer) by following these steps:

  1. Refer to the Enable SSL section in the ROCON documentation for detailed guidance.

  2. Follow the instructions to obtain and configure an SSL certificate for your domain.

  3. Once configured, your site will use the secure HTTPS protocol.

Note: SSL setup steps may vary depending on your domain name provider or SSL certificate provider. Follow the documentation carefully for a smooth configuration process.

Success!

With the domain added, DNS updated, and SSL enabled, your site is now live on ROCON with a secure HTTPS connection. Visitors will enjoy a safe and encrypted browsing experience.

Take advantage of these features to maintain data integrity and protect against potential issues.
