Update DNS Record #
To update the DNS record and point your domain name to your site, follow these steps:
- Obtain the DNS Name of your site. This information can be found in the “Manage Site” section, specifically on the “Site Details” page. Take note of the DNS Name as it will be used in the next steps.
- Log in to your domain name provider’s account. In this example, we will use AWS as the domain name provider, but the process may vary depending on your provider.
- Locate the DNS management or DNS settings section in your domain name provider’s account. This is where you can manage your DNS records.
- Add a new CNAME record to your DNS records. Specify the required domain or subdomain for which you want to point to your site.
- In the CNAME value or destination field, enter the DNS Name of your site that you obtained in step 1. This ensures that the domain or subdomain you specified in the previous step will be directed to your site.
- Save the changes to update the DNS record.
By adding the DNS Name of your site as a CNAME record, you are one step closer to pointing your domain name to your site. the overall process should be similar regardless of your domain name provider.
Once the DNS record is updated and propagated across the internet, you will be one step away from pointing your domain name to your site
