Auto SSL: Generate & Verify Challenge #
To generate an Auto SSL certificate for your domain and automate the SSL configuration process, please follow these steps:
- From the “Manage Sites” section, go to the “Domains Hosted” page and select the specific domain for which you want to generate an Auto SSL certificate.
- Locate the specific domain for which you want to upload the SSL certificate. Click on “Go Live” to make the selected domain live, and click on “Delete” icon to delete the selected domain. Copy the ip address so that you can add it in your DNS provider. Click on “Auto SSL”. This will initiate the Auto SSL generation process.
- In the following prompt, provide an email address for the SSL management contact associated with the domain. This email will be used for certificate-related notifications and updates.
- Additionally, you will be asked to agree to the terms of service of Let’s Encrypt, the certificate authority used for Auto SSL generation. Ensure you carefully read and accept the terms before proceeding.
- After providing the required information and agreeing to the terms of service, click on the “Next” button to continue.
- On the next screen, you will be provided with a TXT record value. This value needs to be added to your DNS records to verify domain ownership and authorize the SSL certificate generation.
- To add the TXT record, navigate to your domain’s DNS management section in your domain name provider’s account. Create a new DNS record with the name “_acme-challenge.domain.com” (replace “domain.com” with your actual domain name) and set the value to the TXT record provided.
- Once the TXT record has been added to your DNS records, you can verify its propagation using a DNS checker tool like https://dnschecker.org/. Ensure that the DNS name “_acme-challenge.domain.com” is propagated and accessible from multiple DNS servers across different locations.
- Once the DNS propagation is confirmed, click on the “Verify” button in the Auto SSL process to initiate the verification process. The system will verify the TXT record and proceed with generating the Auto SSL certificate.
Congratulations! You have successfully initiated the Auto SSL generation process for your domain. The system will verify the TXT record and automatically generate the SSL certificate for your domain.
Please note that DNS propagation may take some time, so it’s recommended to wait until the DNS changes have fully propagated before clicking the “Verify” button. Additionally, ensure that you have access to manage the DNS records for your domain in order to add the necessary TXT record.Enjoy the streamlined process of generating SSL certificates with Auto SSL on ROCON!
